Hata Care provides residential care services in Dublin, specifically for young Ukranian children displaced by conflict who arrive in Ireland without family members. We offer safe, supportive environments that promote independence, integration, and emotional wellbeing. We have been working in conjunction with TUSLA caring for Children since 2001.
We care for separated children aged 16-18 under Section 5 of the Childcare Act. These young people have fled conflict in their home countries, often arriving in Ireland alone without family. We provide a safe, nurturing home while they await possible family reunification. When their families do arrive in Ireland, we support the reunification process, celebrating as these children transition back to family care.
The Welltree Model is a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach used by Hata Care. It emphasizes healthy relationships, personal accountability, and resilience, supporting children's emotional and social development.
Referrals to Hata Care come through the Social Work Department for Children Seeking International Protection. We accept both planned and emergency admissions based on individual needs and circumstances.
We place strong emphasis on community integration and helping children access education or employment opportunities. This helps them build networks and develop their identity beyond our services. Through personalized care, emotional guidance, and practical life skills training, we prepare each young person for independent adulthood. This approach is central to our mission - ensuring they're not just safe today, but equipped to thrive tomorrow.
Yes, all our homes are registered with Tusla’s Alternative Inspection and Monitoring Services (ACIM’s) and undergo regular monitoring and inspections to ensure high standards of safety and care.
